What is Kapton?
Kapton is a polyimide film developed by DuPont used in demanding technical environments where both heat resistance and electrical insulation are crucial. Temperature resistance
Kapton can withstand temperatures between -269°C and +400°C and is therefore used in components exposed to both extreme cold and heat.
Electrical insulation
Kapton has a very high dielectric strength, making it ideal as an insulating material in electronic components - one of our most common applications.
Chemical resistance
The material is resistant to most solvents, acids and bases. Therefore, our Kapton stampings are also used in more aggressive environments, such as laboratories and industrial enclosures.
